In 2021, Worldwide Education Foundation (WEF), USA ignited a spark of change in Chitral Valley of Northern Pakistan through an innovative pilot program of technology-enabled English Language Labs in five private schools. The program benefited over 2,000 students, 100 teachers, and 6 skilled language trainers.
Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC), Chitral, Pakistan
The initiative combines Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers for 3–5-year-olds and English language skills labs for primary school students ages 5–11 under the Bright Beginnings program.
WEF collaborates with Foundation to Empower Students (FES), Pakistan, Aga Khan University Professional Development Centre, Aga Khan Rural Support Program, and local schools.
Current Impact of Early Childhood Learning Centers in Chitral, Pakistan
WEF expanded from 5 in-school labs to 10 ECLCs, with 15 more planned for September 2025. The goal is 100 learning centers by end of 2027, serving over 3,000 children annually.
