Secondary School Scholarships

Low-income private schools, Chitral, Pakistan Ongoing

Secondary school — Grades 9 and 10 — is where many promising students in Chitral are pushed out of education entirely, as school fees become harder for low-income families to justify. WEF's Secondary School Scholarships remove that financial barrier at low-income private schools, keeping talented 14- to 16-year-olds in the classroom through these critical years.

Who It Reaches

  • Students aged 14–16
  • Grade 9 and 10 students at low-income private schools

Why It Matters

The secondary years are exactly when financial pressure most often ends a child's education for good. By covering school fees at this stage, WEF keeps students moving toward graduation — and toward the scholarship and diploma pathways WEF offers next, from Herzing College diplomas to Rising Stars undergraduate scholarships.

Growing Every Year

Student numbers and investment grow as new recipients are onboarded each academic year, expanding the number of low-income schools and students the program reaches across Chitral.
